About EcoMarines

Students and teachers are encouraged to develop ecological projects ranging from installing recyclable waste systems to the rehabilitation of vast green areas in their schools and communities.

Our ultimate goal is to teach children how to be part of a wider world that creates long-term, positive behaviour change for our diverse but often fragile wildlife, natural environment and ecosystems.

Key Features

The number of participants continues to grow, with over 350 schools and education providers currently enrolled in the program.

One of the standout features of the EcoMarines program is its focus on leadership development. Schools participating in the program will designate EcoMarines student ambassadors who will take on the responsibility of designing and implementing eco-friendly initiatives within their school environment. These ambassadors will not only lead these projects but also serve as educators and role models, inspiring their peers to engage with environmental issues and participate in sustainability efforts.

Our Mission & Goal

EcoMarines Foundation is dedicated to educating and engaging schools, communities, and businesses in hands-on environmental initiatives. We aim to create lasting change by cultivating environmental stewardship, reducing waste, and protecting native flora and fauna through action-based learning and collaborative efforts.

The primary goal of the EcoMarines program is to give young people the tools they need to develop sustainable practices for their school and their community,.

CEO, Angela Massy Explains

"The program is presented free to schools, so it doesn't cost schools anything to be part of it. We provide quite a lot of support. We provide a lot of resources for the teachers to help them engage the students and engage the wider school community."

"We also have very strong connections to a range of sponsors and partners that we work with, so we can link schools up with their local council, their local waste management companies, their energy companies, and their water companies. These experiences can help kids to understand what happens to our water when it rains, where it goes, and how it gets cleaned. What happens with our sewerage systems and the sort of things that you can put down the toilet, for example," she says.
