Ipswich Queens Park & Nature Centre Ambassador Diary

On a bright, sunny day with autumn breezes, Samuel and Romain, EcoMarines Ambassadors, started the EcoMarines Adventure Day at Queens Park & Nature Centre in Ipswich.

Ahead of a full day of eco-experiences, they couldn’t hide their enthusiasm and curiosity about how every moment would unfold.

The beginning of the interactive activities, especially the science demonstration on the dynamics of water flow, captured Samuel and Romain’s attention. No blinking eyes as if their whole world was about to change by absorbing new eco-information.

Moments later, excitement still radiating from the experience, Samuel expressed his strong commitment to water conservation and passion for sustainability and nature.

It was time for outdoor activities as their environmental journey was about to incorporate learning digital aspects. A mobile game competition put the boys to the test and uncovered mysterious signs across Queens Park.

Samuel’s team emerged victorious. It was a delightful approach to learn environmental knowledge, relish the fresh air, and create unforgettable memories.

After the game, a guided tour to the Nature Centre sparked the boys’ adventurous spirit for wildlife. The tour showcased a variety of animals, sparking Samuel’s and Romain’s curiosity. Samuel was fascinated by flying foxes, while Romain was attracted to emus

“The best thing about today is that I have learned more about the environment and how to save water. I liked the presentations and how interactive they were. It was important to understand that we shouldn’t be flushing all sorts of things down, and how the water process works,” Samuels said.

At the end of the day, the Ambassadors had a full bag of stories to share – it was a very wonderful day in Ipswich Queens Park & Nature Centre with the adventure of learning environmental knowledge through workshops, outdoor interactive exploration, knowledge competition with friends, and seeing wildlife.
